Like a lot of people, I started shooting pictures at an early age. Over time I developed a desire to do more. After leaving the Marine Corps in 1980 I purchased my first SLR camera and it was on! As those were the film days, I started experimenting with exposure, aperture and ASA. I also received, as gifts, light meters and filters and which allowed me to experiment artistically.
Then the era of digital photography began. Like everyone else it was just point and shoot in the beginning, but that didn’t deter me . I engaged the digital era with enthusiasm. Next came the DSLRs and it was on again! Since then, I attended photographic training at various levels, from extended study college classes, to photo seminars and university training.
I now hold 2 certificates in Professional Photography one from the New York Institute of Photography and the other from Professional Photographers of America. As part of my study, my photographic work there had to be submitted to working professional photographers for review, judging, and critiquing. Some of those photographers are world renown in their fields.
Today, together with my bride and business partner I founded JPG Image Studio in the hopes of bringing our view of the world and vision to the public in a “Different Perspective.” I hope my work, which comes from my heart, will bring you joy.
My Philosophy
The vision at JPG Image Studio is to provide a "different perspective" of every day images; the images of landscapes, people, and objects you see coming from this studio are artistically altered for enhancement and beauty, capturing a deeper and more profound experience for the viewer.
We believe in under promising and over delivering.
Thank you for viewing the work here and that the experience brought you some joy of the visual world of photography and the way we see the world.
